McKnight Featured Speaker at Portland Conference

PORTLAND, OR (February 22, 2007) – Scot McKnight will be the featured evening speaker at the Crossing Borders Conference to be held from 12:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the Irvington Covenant Church.

McKnight, the Karl A. Olsson professor in religious studies at North Park University, will address a youth audience during the day and share with a general audience in the evening, using Embracing Grace, the title of one of his many books, as a theme. Irvington Pastor Henry Greenidge will speak during the opening session.

The conference is designed to help participants reach out beyond their own cultures. Other speakers include Florence Gustafson and her son, Darrell, Nancy Jo Hoover, Galen Johnson, Gary and Pauline Carlson, and Joseph and Carmin Ottley.

A broad range of topics will be explored, including mission work in Japan, supporting recovery ministries, and understanding diverse communities.

The conference is sponsored by the North Pacific Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The conference registration fee is $26 for adults and $19 for students through high school age.
