Nominations Sought for Two Central Conference Awards

CHICAGO, IL (January 26, 2007) – The Central Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church is accepting nominations for the David A. Larson Town & Country Award and the J. William Fredrickson Urban Ministry Award.

The awards, which are designed for churches in the Central Conference, will be presented by the conference’s Commission on Compassion, Mercy & Justice during the Central Conference Annual Meeting in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, on April 27 and 28.

Nominations should be in writing and include a brief biography, as well as a brief description of the nominee’s contributions. Submissions may be mailed to the attention of Debbie Griffith at the Central Conference Office, 3319 W. Foster Ave., Chicago, IL, 60625, or emailed to Debbie Griffith.

A town and country community is defined as one having fewer than 10,000 residences located outside of a metropolitan service area. David A. Larson was an active community leader from Princeton, Illinois.

J. William Fredrickson was a North Park University economics professor who founded several significant community based organizations and devoted himself to community development.
