Bands for CHIC Announced; Deadline for Film Contest Pushed Back

CHICAGO, IL (June 5, 2006) – The alt-rock band Hawk Nelson will head the list of performers at CHIC 2006, the Covenant’s triennial youth event, to be held July 16-21 at the University of Tennessee.

Hawk Nelson, originally from Canada, is one of the hottest bands on the Christian music circuit. Their music has appeared on several hit TV shows.

CHIC leaders also recently announced that the Short Film Contest submission deadline has been pushed back to June 30. Winners will get to spend the day on the set of Ralph Winter’s next movie. Winter has produced numerous hit films including the three X-Men movies, Inspector Gadget, Fantastic Four, and several Star Trek films.

Other artists scheduled to appear at CHIC include Lost and Found, GRITS, Salvador, The Afters, Falling Up, Bethany Dillon, Cross Movement, and Family Force 5.
