Memorial Celebration April 2 for Ross Foley

PRIOR LAKE, MN (March 30, 2006) – A memorial celebration will be conducted on Sunday, April 2, for Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Ross Foley who died early this morning following a brief struggle with liver and pancreatic cancer.

Visitation will be observed from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville, Minnesota. The Sunday celebration will be at 3 p.m. at the church with a graveside service immediately following and a reception later at the church.

Foley, 67, was born in New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada. He received a diploma from Moody Bible Institute and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Greek from Wheaton College in 1963. He earned his M.Div. in Synoptic Gospels from Fuller Theological Seminary and completed additional work at North Park Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the Covenant in 1968.

He most recently served as interim pastor at Redeemer Covenant Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. During his ministry, he served congregations at Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville, Minnesota; Covenant Church of the Foothills in La Crescenta, California; Batavia Covenant Church in Batavia, Illinois; Blue Island Covenant Church in Blue Island, Illinois; and served as youth pastor at First Covenant Church in Los Angeles, California.
