Best-Selling Author to Focus on Liberal Arts

CHICAGO, IL (March 20, 2006) – Tickets remain available to hear best-selling author Kathleen Norris at North Park University at 7 p.m. April 6 in Anderson Chapel.

Kathleen Norris Norris will speak on “Shaping a Life That Matters: Why We Need the Liberal Arts.” She also will present a reading and do a book signing.

Norris is an award-winning poet, writer and author of Dakota: A Spiritual Geography, The Cloister Walk, Amazing Grace: A Vocabulary of Faith, and The Virgin of Bennington.

She also has published seven books of poetry. Her first book of poems, Falling Off, was the 1971 winner of the Big Table Younger Poets Award.

Tickets are $12 for general admission and $10 for groups of 10 or more. To purchase tickets, call 773-244-5553.

Norris is appearing at North Park as part of its 2005-2006 University Campus Theme Program, which this year focuses on “What is a Life of Significance?”
