EDMOND, OK (January 16, 2006) – Several individuals from Edmond, Oklahoma, and Chicago left late last week to work with an educational and cultural exchange program in Beijing, China.

The trip – part of a project called “Beijing 2006” – will conclude on January 24. Approximately 20 first-year students from a school located in a remote area of the country will travel to the capital city for an excursion with the American volunteers.

A key goal of the trip is to provide an opportunity for a language immersion experience for the Chinese students, with the Americans speaking English throughout the trip to help the Chinese students develop their English-speaking skills.
