ROCHESTER, NY (January 3, 2006) – Following are additional photos that helped illustrate – and inspire – a sermon series in a unique way.
Several of the pieces of artwork were positioned on the communion table each week as the congregation celebrated the Lord’s Supper. |
“Paths to God” – December 4This piece, also by Jenny Hillenbrand, give a striking visual image to the idea of laying a path, paving the way for the Christ event. |
Claudia Harbaugh arranges the pieces that were part of the Nativity, which included a special pathway and stepping stones created by the children, that led to the baby. |
“Trouble Conceiving” – December 18Nicole Stoodley, an art education major at Roberts Wesleyan, submitted this piece for use with the December 11 sermon, but then decided it might lend itself better to the image of motherhood discussed during the December 18 message. |
The Nativity included a special canopy filled with small Christmas lights to represent the heavenly “canopy.” |
