We decided on doing a two day retreat that would give people a chance to be still from their labors, focus on God and be reunited as a team.

The first aha moment came when a bag was passed around which collected their “phone offerings”…freeing everyone from the distraction of games, facebook, LINE (popular in Thailand) and selfies….

We spent time in God’s Word and a lot of time in reflection and rest.  

We came together to share our hearts  and our lives in Christ and at the end of the retreat, to take those steps towards truly being the family of God He has made us to be, as we owned our sinful words and actions and asked  “to build trust again” from one another.

We watched the movie, “Courageous”, together and hearts were moved and encouraged, but the women came away wondering why none of the Thai men in their lives (dads, brothers, former husbands, sons) were around to be met by God in that moment.  They were challenged to make choices themselves to let God into those hurting, damaged areas and to live lives for His glory.
