Last week Ron and I, along with 10 other Covenant missionaries\u00a0attened\u00a0Missionary Connection Week (MCW) in Skokie, IL.\u00a0 Some of the connections involved\u00a0wires and outlets, but the most significant connections were personal ones.\u00a0 It was a wonderful time of connecting\u00a0in five different dimensions.<\/p>\n

We connected with God<\/span>.\u00a0 Each day began with worship, singing, devotionals as a group, and time alone with the Lord\u00a0in prayer and Bible reading.\u00a0 Our final session together, Sunday morning, we had a worship service and communion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We connected with each other<\/span>.\u00a0 There were times of sharing stories of our lives and ministries, prayer for each other, fellowship, food, fun, and laughter.\u00a0 We also\u00a0spent a fun evening with retired Covenant\u00a0missionaries.\u00a0 The\u00a0years of faithful ministry to a wide variety of peoples\u00a0of many\u00a0languages and nations represented in that\u00a0gathering was\u00a0amazing.<\/p>\n

We connected with Covenant\u00a0World Mission<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0As Covenant\u00a0missionaries we are part of a larger team.\u00a0 We\u00a0had the opportunity to get\u00a0re-acquainted with\u00a0the staff\u00a0who serve in the Chicago office,\u00a0handling administration and personnel aspects of our work.\u00a0 We also\u00a0learned about what else is going on around the world in Covenant mission.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0connected with the Evangelical Covenant Church<\/span>.\u00a0 President Gary Walter and Vice President Donn Engebretson spent some time with us talking about the mission and ministry of the Covenant.\u00a0 We also heard from the leaders of other departments of the Covenant in both formal presentations and\u00a0an\u00a0informal\u00a0evening to chat with\u00a0\u00a0them.<\/p>\n

We prepared for connection with our ministry partners<\/span>.\u00a0 All 12 of us participants\u00a0will be\u00a0travelling around the US this year to connect with our\u00a0ministry partners.\u00a0\u00a0So we learned some new skills in\u00a0face to face\u00a0presentation,\u00a0as well as new technology to facilitate our connections with you, our partners in ministry.<\/p>\n
