{"id":2616,"date":"2015-07-05T17:39:29","date_gmt":"2015-07-05T22:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/?p=2616"},"modified":"2015-07-05T17:54:32","modified_gmt":"2015-07-05T22:54:32","slug":"celebrating-4th-of-july-in-cameroon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/?p=2616","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating 4th of July in Cameroon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes American embassies host parties for Americans on the 4th of July. \u00a0A few years ago our family attended a picnic at the embassy pool for Americans and their families.<\/p>\n<p>This year Ron and I were invited, along with another couple the Cawleys (who play volleyball with a few embassy folks), as representatives of RFIS, to a much more elaborate event at the embassy on July 2. \u00a0Rubbing shoulders with diplomats, ambassadors, senators and other important people was quite fun. \u00a0The invitation said no cameras, so I&#8217;ll just show you pictures of our &#8220;souvenirs&#8221; from the evening.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2617\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2617\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2015\/07\/2015-07-4th-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2617\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2015\/07\/2015-07-4th-1-300x227.jpg\" alt=\"Invitation and napkin from the embassy event\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2015\/07\/2015-07-4th-1-300x227.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2015\/07\/2015-07-4th-1.jpg 571w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2617\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Invitation and napkin from the embassy event<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This is the first invitation I&#8217;ve received that has a bar code on it!
