Looking back over the past few weeks, I’d definitely say there have been some bumps in the road. Nothing huge, but challenges none the less. It’s been a time to us to sit back and watch – to see what God will do. We came to Colombia knowing that the first few months would just be a time of settling in, getting established, etc. What we didn’t expect was the difficulty we have had renting an apartment nor the fact that both kids have been back and forth to the doctor. Through it all we have continued to look to God for guidance and strength and our friends have been such an incredible support system.<\/p>\n

Resting up after the surgery<\/p><\/div>\n

On Friday our son had surgery to have his tonsils and adenoids out. Not a very big surgery, but a surgery none the less, which is disturbing for a parent. He did so well and the operation went without problem, still the road to recovery is not quick. We are thankful that we were able to quickly connect with quality doctors here who have provided such good care. As far as the apartment goes…it looks like we’re getting close, but neither of us will be completely confident until the papers our sign and we’ve got the keys. Through this process we have both been taken out of our comfort zone. Julio who hates paperwork has been up to his eye balls in paper work \ud83d\ude42 For me, who wants clear answers quickly, the days of waiting have challenged my patience.<\/p>\n

Still, in the midst of it all we have been loving the moments we have to be with people and share in the ministry here. Just today Julio had the privilege of participating in the annual meeting\/retreat for the Covenant’s youth organization. He shared on the theme of leadership during one of the teaching sessions.<\/p>\n
