We’ve officially be in Colombia for a little over two months. Time is a funny thing. On one hand it feels like we’ve been back in Colombia for much longer than two months. We’ve settled into our house,\u00a0the boys have gotten into a routine at school, ministry plans have been made, meetings have taken place, visitors have come and gone. And then on the other hand we are aware that we are still finding our rhythm, we are still making new friends, getting to know our new neighborhood, stepping into new ministry roles. So much familiar and yet so much new.<\/p>\n

Just this morning our first visitors from the USA left after a brief weekend visit and our boys went back to school after a week-long October break. Sitting in the silence of the house this morning, I found myself longing for activity and noise, and yet I was\u00a0reminded that what I really needed was to sit and be quiet. It was as if God was inviting me to thank him for the familiar and trust him with the new. And I am thankful. I’m thankful for the ways we’ve seen God at work through people and ministries here in Colombia. I’m thankful to be a part of a team that serves with passion and commitment. I’m thankful for palm trees and mountains. I’m thankful for arepas and mora juice. I’m thankful for the opportunity we had to share with the representatives from Covenant World Relief and for the partnership we have with them here in Colombia. And I trust God with the ways he will use us in Colombia to develop leaders, to join people on their journey with God, to equip people to be agents of peace and reconciliation. I trust God that he will continue to deepen friendships and bring new friends in our lives. I trust that God will continue to work in our boys lives as they continue to adapt to their new environment. I trust God even when missing family and friends and the changing seasons back in the USA.<\/p>\n
