The past few months have been full of change for our family. It’s one thing to handle change and new places and new people as an adult and it’s another thing to handle it as a child. So it has been an answer to our prayers as we’ve been traveling with our children when they’ve been able to connect with and play with other kids their age. Our kids miss their friends in Colombia and they are eager to make friends here. That’s why my heart felt such joy as we walked away from breakfast with a sweet family in Sacramento where our boys got to play with two kids and my son said, “I think I made a friend, mom.”<\/p>\n

I am deeply grateful to the Covenant church for providing a special time for our children and four other missionary kids to process together their crazy life of cross-cultural living. During our missionary connection event we got to enjoy time together as a family. And while we adults had our time to dialogue and learn from one another, our children were being cared for and were making their own friends. Again, describing the experience to their grandfather my son said, “I made great friends.” A huge shout out to Bob Auger and Lyna Swanson for creating this special time for our kids.<\/p>\n

I’m thankful for families who have hosted us and have made our kids feel like one of the family. We have been so well cared for in this past month and a half. We are finishing up two weeks in Sacramento where we have been repeatedly welcomed into homes and treated like family. We are so grateful for the way God has cared for us through God’s people.<\/p>\n
