Just finished a great game of Liverpool Rummy with our kids in Chicago. Some other fun things we’ve done:
– enjoyed Chicago deep-dish pizza from Lou Malnati’s, ball-park hot dogs, Ann Sather’s cinnamon rolls, BBQ hamburgers, and picnics in the park.
– watched the Sox beat the Angels. Four home runs with a great display of fireworks after the game!
– played croquet and frisbee at Peterson Park.
– got stuck in 4th of July traffic. Who knew they blocked off all the roads near the Lake? We did end up getting to see the official Chicago fireworks at the Lake – wow!
– fought well in a game of Settler’s of Catan. Carl won in a final strategic move.
Tomorrow (Wed) we head back to Iowa to collect the rest of our stuff and then on to Minneapolis to fly back to Congo on Saturday, July 10th.
