This is a map of the Central African Republic that was sent out by ICDI before Christmas. \u00a0I have added a couple of advances, circled in orange, made by the rebels since the map was sent out. \u00a0There is talk that they actually are at the “y” between Sibut and the capital, Bangui. \u00a0You can see where we live, circled in purple, in the far west, and you can see why we are the hosts of many, many missionaries \u00a0 who are either proceeding all the way to Cameroon or just want a safer place to wait out the events. \u00a0We have our ears open, to the media (radio, satellite TV, internet when it’s running) and to our resident friends of this country, so that we can leave in a timely fashion IF we need to. \u00a0After our prayer meeting last night, Sunday the 30th, we shared the news each of us had heard and even watched some blips of news, including pictures of a peaceful Bangui, on Westers’ sat. TV. \u00a0The news talked about different reinforcements from outside the country to aid in fighting against the rebels, which is an encouragement to us. \u00a0At this point, we feel that we can safely stay and wait and see, because it is a very long day’s drive from the capital to where we are. Would you please pray for the negotiations, for softening of hearts, for peace for C.A.R.? \u00a0Would you please pray for the families who have lost loved ones or who are dealing with living in fear of what might happen next? \u00a0Please pray for wisdom for us, as we host displaced friends and continue on with our normal ministries and at the same time have bags packed to leave quickly. \u00a0May the Lord bring peace in an amazing way to this place!<\/p>\n
