The new president of CAR?

The vote on February 14th passed peaceably, but there has been some protest about the counting of the ballots.  Click this to get the story.

Here are two missionary colleagues, visiting with Former Prime Minister Faustin Touadera.  He asked John and Charlie to read the bible and pray with him.  If the count stands, he is the new president of CAR.    Thank you for praying for peaceful elections, now for peace for the country.
John, Charlie, and Pres. T of C.A.R.

John and Charlie’s mission had just sent a truck full of medicines and supplies to the east in CAR last week, but it didn’t get very far.  It was hijacked and the cargo entirely looted, the driver and passengers were beaten and even their shoes were taken.  The truck returned empty, and their hospital in the far east is now hurting for those meds.

With all the challenges CAR presents at this time, like this incident, whoever the president is, we need to pray for him.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
