Christ Revealed: Praying Through Life as a Sacrament is a seven-session guide for individual and small group study, reflection, and interaction.
In Holy Communion, readers share in the taking, blessing, breaking and giving of Christ. As bearers of the image of God, something of Christ is revealed through us – as chosen, blessed, broken, and given people of God. Written by Dawn Taloyo, this week of prayer resource provides an opportunity to reflect on the sacramental nature of our lives.
For more than 60 years, the Covenant has provided materials for a week of prayer during the month of January. Whether scheduled at the beginning of a new year or at other times throughout the year, the task of challenging and equipping followers of Jesus to live a life of prayer is central to the mission.
This resource is downloadable in English, Spanish, and Korean in two formats and may also be enlarged for the sight-impaired. It is only available as a download and will not be available in print form.
The material is not date-specific, so it can be used by individuals as well as in groups, within a one-week time frame or over the course of seven weeks.
To prepare for using the material, churches should decide the time within the coming year that is best for such an emphasis, consider whether the material will be used in small groups or adult formation, and determine the number of pieces they will need to duplicate. Many congregations include this material in their bulletins.
