Seated before the late Seminary Dean Glenn Anderson I was given the word about my seminary internship destination, “Doug, you’re going to First Covenant Church, Sioux City, Iowa, where you’ll work with one of the best, Don Pearson.” I will always be thankful for that assignment! Rev. Don Pearson’s warmth, pastoral integrity, and proclamation of “the gospel of grace” launched my ministry on a firm foundation. Don and Dorothy modeled the hospitality of Jesus to congregation and community. And, Don’s faithful ministry to a parade of interns will never be forgotten!
God’s peace to you, Dorothy, and your dear family.
Rev. Doug Johnson,
Santa Barbara, CA

Don (and Dorothy) Pearson was also the first pastor for North Haven Covenant Church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and was my confirmation pastor. Don and Dorothy hold a very special place in my life and heart. I thank God for them.
