CHICAGO, IL (January 20, 2012) – Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) congregations are reminded that the ECC fiscal year ends January 31.

Congregational support for the ECC mission and ministry should be post-marked by that date to be included in the church’s giving totals for the past year.

“The support of our congregations is especially urgent right now,” says President Gary Walter. “Like with local churches, finishing the year strong is critical. We’re behind where we hoped to be right now. But, as churches are conscientious about fulfilling their intent, we will have the push we need to break even again this year and to be ready to begin a new year with strength.”

Walter also encourages churches to make a special gift if possible.

“We have honored all of our international commitments, despite the economy. As much as the economic environment here is hurting, our friends in many places around the world hurt even more. We have chosen to stand with them.”
