CHICAGO, IL (June 1, 2011) – The multicultural worship and other activities at the Feast will give attendees an opportunity to more fully experience the reality of the kingdom of God,” says J. Wilson Herrera, one of the event’s main speakers.

“I hope people will come excited about the multiethnic worship,” adds Herrera, who also is a director of Christian formation with a focus on Hispanic ministries for the Department of Christian Formation.

The family event will be held June 25-28 at the YMCA of the Rockies camp in Estes Park, some 65 miles northwest of Denver, Colorado.

As much as he wants people to come excited, Herrera even more wants people to return home having been transformed through an experience with God. “If we have an encounter with God, then it is something we will want to share with others,” Herrera says. He notes that when the disciples experienced the transfiguration, they immediately wanted to tell others.

Organizers have said they hope every congregation will invest in its own spiritual growth by helping fund the participation of at least one family. As those families share what has happened to them and bring back what they have learned, the entire church can benefit from the Feast.

Herrera encourages people who attend to begin praying now to encounter God in a fresh way at the Feast.

Online registration is available through midnight (CST) June 7. All other registrations will be handled onsite.
