Covenanters Bring Ministry for Helping Abused to Mexico

LA PAZ, MEXICO (December 31, 2010) – Evangelical Covenant Church ministers traveled to Mexico to help establish the first Mending the Soul (MTS) ministries in the country for helping victims of domestic violence.

Helping lead the presentations were Pastor Kent Bertrand and his wife, Blanca, of The Bridge Covenant Church in Gilbert, Arizona, as well as Tammy Smith, pastor of spiritual formation at Paradise Valley Community Church, a Covenant congregation in Phoenix, Arizona.

MTS is an educational and equipping ministry that provides research based curriculum and resources to train the faith community on the nature and effects of abuse and to partner with other agencies to prevent and respond to abuse, says Smith.
