\u00a0Gabrielle and Ruth had been planning our March 8 celebration for weeks!\u00a0 We purchased specially made cloth and had dresses made.\u00a0 We went downtown together to watch and participate in the parade.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ve never seen so many women in the same material with so many styles of dress.\u00a0 It was beautiful!<\/p>\n

\u00a0After the parade we came to our house for an African meal.\u00a0 They prepared manioc, I had made a meat sauce and rice.\u00a0 Below Gabrielle prepares “fufu” from manioc flour.<\/p>\n

Then we feasted!\u00a0 I gave them soft drinks in bottles.\u00a0 But before opening the bottles, Ruth began to tap hers with a spoon – and dance around the room singing!<\/p>\n

Seeing her desire for percussion, I found a drum in the boys room for her to use…<\/p>\n

Soon Patience joined us.\u00a0 She hadn’t gone to the parade due to the heat – she is pregnant.\u00a0 We headed outside for more singing and dancing.<\/p>\n

These women have been through some rough times.\u00a0 They celebrate how good the Lord has been to them.\u00a0 We ended the day by sharing our many blessings from the Lord, and in prayer.<\/p>\n

Gabrielle, Patience, Ruth, Janet<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

All of us used to live in Congo and are now in Yaounde.\u00a0 All of us depend on the Lord daily.\u00a0 It was a joy and pleasure spending International Womens’ Day with these godly\u00a0women.<\/p><\/div>\n
