There have been big changes in the teaching staff both at Rain Forest International School (RFIS) and at the Elementary level Parent Run School (PRS) already this year.\u00a0 When a school depends on volunteer short term or long term missionaries for the majority of the teachers, flexibility is key.\u00a0 Covenant World Mission, being in formal partnership with RFIS, sends missionaries here to teach and administer at the school.\u00a0\u00a0 Over Christmas Break, more changes took place.<\/div>\n

Mary & Karl Noren<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Karl & Mary Noren, having served many years as short term missionaries, returned to\u00a0Kansas, USA in January to begin the process of application to long term missionary status.\u00a0 Many students were very disappointed that Mr. Noren would not teach them science this semester.\u00a0 Besides teaching music at RFIS,\u00a0Mary also taught piano lessons, and was actively involved in a neighborhood Bible Club.\u00a0 We miss them and their cute kids.\u00a0 And we pray they’ll be able to return soon.<\/p>\n

Samantha Barron<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In late December Samantha Barron arrived to teach Math and Science classes.\u00a0 With experience at Bible Camp, and teaching students in Chicago, this Northern Michigan woman is well prepared to teach at RFIS!\u00a0 She hit the ground running:\u00a0 learning about life in Africa including how to shop,\u00a0filter water, and watch out for tropical diseases.\u00a0 All this while also preparing for classes!\u00a0 Welcome Sam!<\/p>\n
