For Supper?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was nearly 6 pm and I still didn&#8217;t know what to make\u00a0for supper!\u00a0 How about fast food?\u00a0 So I put a pot of rice on to cook and headed next door to the local fish grill.\u00a0\u00a0 I sat in her little cafe (right, in picture below) to wait for my order,\u00a0and watched Miley Cyrus in French!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_419\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-419\" style=\"width: 255px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/Fish-grill-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-419 \" title=\"Fish grill 1\" grill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u00a0The grill is made out of a\u00a0tire rim\u00a0with iron mesh on top.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_420\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-420\" style=\"width: 267px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/fish-grill-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-420 \" title=\"fish grill 2\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/fish-grill-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"267\" height=\"389\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-420\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">With a cardboard she fans the smokey flavor into the fish (and the wonderful aroma toward our windows)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0I don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s in her secret sauce, but she brushes it on generously, and turns each piece with her bare hands.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_421\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-421\" style=\"width: 271px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/fish-grill-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-421\" title=\"fish grill 3\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/fish-grill-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"365\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-421\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Picking up the hot fish from the grill by hand, she stands them up to grill the ends.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">What does it cost?\u00a0 She charges 300 cfa per piece.\u00a0 That&#8217;s about 60 cents in American money.\u00a0\u00a0I had to tell her that my husband refuses to pay what she is asking.\u00a0 Instead, he insists on paying 500 cfa per piece (about $1.00 U.S.)\u00a0because it&#8217;s just that good.\u00a0 That put a smile on her face.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">And back home, it&#8217;s ready to serve with sides of mpondu (Congolese Lingala word for cooked manioc greens), rice,\u00a0stir fried veggies, and a dab of her &#8220;condiments&#8221; to dip the fish in.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_422\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-422\" style=\"width: 339px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/fish-grill-4-plate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-422\" title=\"fish grill 4 plate\"
