Few Helping Hands for Ron"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Between the end of our driveway and the road, there is a V-shaped gutter, running along the side of the road.\u00a0 So to get into or out of our yard, a vehicle has to traverse this little valley.\u00a0 For the 4&#215;4 trucks it&#8217;s not a problem, but to bring a taxi in (loaded with my groceries) it could do some damage.\u00a0 I always advise against it.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why my thoughtful hubby gave me a bridge for my birthday!\u00a0 He ordered planks to put across the gutter so any vehicle can easily enter or exit our driveway without doing\u00a0damage.\u00a0 Today the planks were delivered, and Ron and Karl Noren\u00a0went to work assembling the bridge.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-380\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/bridge-1-small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-380  \" title=\"bridge 1 small\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/bridge-1-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"367\" audience of neighborhood children curious about this white man&#8217;s construction project and the power tool he was using to screw all the planks to a board running along the bottome side.\u00a0 I think they were also excited about an opportunity to venture into our yard &#8211; a place normally\u00a0off limits to\u00a0them because of\u00a0our big sliding metal door.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_381\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-381\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/bridge-2-small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-381\" title=\"bridge 2 small\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/bridge-2-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-381\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Each one gets a turn<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ron decided to give each of the curious children an opportunity to be carpenter&#8217;s\u00a0apprentice for the day.\u00a0 Each one got a chance to\u00a0put a screw in with the use of the power tool.\u00a0 While Ron guided it and their peers\u00a0gathered close to observe, each one\u00a0got\u00a0a turn.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_382\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-382\" style=\"width: 367px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/bridge-hands-small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-382\" title=\"bridge hands small\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2010\/11\/bridge-hands-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"367\" height=\"490\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-382\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ron steadies the drill while a budding apprentice helps build the bridge.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Who knows?\u00a0 Maybe one day one of these bright young children might remember this first opportunity to hold a power tool in his or her hand and decide to become a carpenter!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_383\"
