This afternoon I was at RFIS, as is my custom on Thursdays, from 3 to 4 pm for Small Group.\u00a0 I get together with 4 young women in 9th grade for discipleship.\u00a0 We’re nearly done studying Ephesians, and it’s going really well.\u00a0 But that’s not what this title refers to.<\/p>\n
Last week I posted a photo and story about Ron and the guys exposing a sewer pipe that had been flattened\u00a0during the construction of the RFIS\u00a0library\u00a0building.\u00a0 That was during break, in which there were no students needing to use the library.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Today, the 3rd day back at school, riding home from RFIS with us was Mark, the Cameroonian\u00a0librarian.\u00a0 (say that 10 times fast — at least his name isn’t “Marion”)\u00a0 He was describing the scene in the library after over 2 meters of concrete had been chipped away to expose the damaged pipe.\u00a0 Apparently he’s been spending the week cleaning the\u00a0dust off every book and shelf in the library!\u00a0 In his description of the mess, he used the words “un etat deplorable” or\u00a0“a deplorable state”!\u00a0 Hopefully it was only\u00a0dust that messed up the library.<\/p>\n
Suffice it to say, libraries and construction (or deconstruction in this case) zones do not mix!<\/p>\n
