I&#8217;m still not able to write about it, but think about him and miss him every day. He was the Executive Secretary and Board member of ECIP (Evangelical Covenant International Partners) the umbrella organization under which we Covenant, Free Church, Encompass and other missionaries work in Cameroon. He was also the Administrative Officer for RFIS. Aleta Danforth very kindly came for a couple days on short notice to help me sort through papers and help me figure out what he was working on that needed immediate attention. He loved work, and served the missionary and school communities with joy.<\/p>\n<p>Following is the blog Aleta wrote in his honor&#8230;<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Norbert, peace to his memory<\/h1>\n<div class=\"entry-meta\"><span class=\"meta-prep meta-prep-author\">Posted on<\/span>\u00a0<a title=\"6:18 pm\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?p=4668\" rel=\"bookmark\"><span class=\"entry-date\">August 30, 2017<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<span class=\"meta-sep\">by<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"author vcard\"><a class=\"url fn n\" title=\"View all posts by danforth\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/?author=9\">danforth<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"pf-content\">\n<p>Norbert Tchounkeu, a smiling husband and father of 3 teenagers, passed away last week, after a sudden and very short sickness out of the blue.\u00a0 He was the go-to guy for all things administrative for our missions and mostly for RFIS\/Rainforest International School (jr.\/high school).\u00a0 He took care of everything from ID cards to electric bills.\u00a0 He knew people in so many offices and handled the red tape for too many things to count.\u00a0 The staff at RFIS is reeling at the shockingly sudden loss of a friend and colleague, and floundering at how to cover what he did and even to understand and know what all that was!\u00a0 This loss comes on the heels of the medical evacuation of teacher, Julia Baker, and counselor\/chaplain Mark Kato.<\/p>\n<p>Please pray for Norbert\u2019s family, for the staff at RFIS \u2013 especially for Lois A., director, and Janet Z, our Covenant missions person who will be the front-line people for sorting out all the tasks at hand.\u00a0 Please pray for healing for Julia and Mark.\u00a0 Pray that this OVERLOAD right now at RFIS be manageable and that God\u2019s presence be felt in an encouraging way.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4654\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4654\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2017\/08\/blog-overload-1-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4654 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/danforth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2017\/08\/blog-overload-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4654\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Losing our colleague and friend Norbert, we&#8217;re feeling about as overloaded as this vehicle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We give thanks that there are SIL\/Wycliffe mission colleagues and even our buddy, Moses, the taxi driver, who will help in many ways in the coming days of transition.<\/p>\n<p>Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks.\u00a0 And God\u2019s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.\u00a0 Phil 4:6-7<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=3170&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The death of our dear friend, colleague and brother in Christ was sudden and sad.
