Day 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the start of a new school year! \u00a0The first day of school is orientation for all studnts. \u00a0The 2nd day is the completion of orientation and in the afternoon &#8220;Kick-Off Day&#8221;! \u00a0I&#8217;ve heard students say it&#8217;s their favorite day of the year. \u00a0During these first 2 days of school students are familiarized with the campus, the schedule, rules, and dress code in some very fun and creative ways.<\/p>\n<p>Each class made up a skit to demonstrate how to \/ or how not to behave in school.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2261\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2261\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2014\/08\/2014-08-Kickoff-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2261\" alt=\"Students perform skits to demonstrate id=\"caption-attachment-2261\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Students perform skits to demonstrate rules &amp; proper behavior in school.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Students and staff were then put into teams &#8212; each team consisting of students from different grades, and teaching staff as well as maintenance staff. \u00a0They were given a list of things to video or photograph themselves doing as a team, such as&#8230;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2262\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2262\" style=\"width: 296px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a id=\"caption-attachment-2263\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Video your team singing a song<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And in the end all photos and videos were compiled and edited into one video presentation which was shown.<\/p>\n<p>After lunch the real games began. \u00a0Staff and students were split into 2 teams, given water guns, water balloons, and guidelines for the game. \u00a0 And the rest of the day was crazy with running, chasing, throwing and squirting water. \u00a0I did wonder how students would be able to take their teachers seriously after chasing around with them the second day of school. \u00a0But, that&#8217;s just the way it is at RFIS. \u00a0Students learn when it&#8217;s ok to be ridiculous, and when it&#8217;s time to be serious. \u00a0Just another reason I love
