{"id":2007,"date":"2014-02-10T20:24:43","date_gmt":"2014-02-11T01:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/?p=2007"},"modified":"2014-02-10T20:24:43","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T01:24:43","slug":"february-2014-prayer-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/?p=2007","title":{"rendered":"February 2014 Prayer Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I guess I have neglected to post our prayer updates lately. \u00a0So to catch up a bit, here are our&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Praises for December-January<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>We are so thankful that our Winter- Spring speaking schedule is now almost completely booked.<\/li>\n<li>We are thankful for great times in Dec. with ministry partners at Federated Covenant Church in Dowagiac\u00a0 and in January with Thornapple Covenant in GR and West Bay Covenant Church in Traverse City.<\/li>\n<li>We were so thankful to be in the US to celebrate Christmas with family.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0In January we thank God for Ben who turned 14.<\/li>\n<li>This semester Ron and I are pleased to have the opportunity to study together \u2013 a course called Perspectives on the World Christian Movement.\u00a0 We look forward to a refreshed vision and understanding of what God is doing in the world.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Prayer Requests for February<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>As I write, Jan. 27, we are supposed to be on our way to Chicago for the <a title=\"Midwinter highlights\" href=\"http:\/\/covchurch.tv\/mw2014-hl\/\" target=\"_blank\">Midwinter Conference<\/a> of Covenant ministers.\u00a0 Please pray for safe travels there and back, as well as a time of learning, refreshment and fellowship.\u00a0 We are also going on the <a title=\"Covenant Sankofa Journey\" href=\"http:\/\/www.covchurch.org\/justice\/racial-righteousness\/sankofa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sankofa Journey<\/a> (Jan. 31-Feb. 3) to visit places significant to the civil rights movement in America.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000\">Answer: \u00a0in spite of white outs, snow and ice, we experienced safe travel. \u00a0The Midwinter conference was wonderful, the Sankofa Journey amazing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Pray for connections with ministry partners this month:\u00a0 Feb. 16 at <a href=\"http:\/\/redeemercovenant.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Redeemer Covenant<span style=\"color: #000000\"> Church<\/span><\/a> in Caledonia, MI and Feb. 23 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fellowshipcovenant.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fellowship Covenant<\/a> Church in Hudsonville, MI.<\/li>\n<li>Pray for Heidi and Konroy Boeckel who are preparing to go to French language study and then on to Cameroon next year where they\u2019ll serve as short term missionaries in children\u2019s education and orphan care.<\/li>\n<li>Continue to persevere in prayer for Central African Republic.\u00a0 They have an interim president who is a woman (first time ever), and her Prime Minister whose name is Nzapayeke, which means \u201cGod is present\u201d.\u00a0 Pray for peace and reconciliation between people groups who have spun into an evil cycle of retaliation.<\/li>\n<li>Pray for the friends, family, colleagues, missionaries and Cameroonians who are grieving the sudden passing of missionary Bob Lane in Yaounde, Cameroon. \u00a0He died last week of apparent heart attack, leaving his wife and son (12th grade friend of our kids) in Yaounde, and 3 grown sons in the US.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Thank you for praying for our ministry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=2007&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I guess I have neglected to post our prayer updates lately. \u00a0So to catch up a bit, here are our&#8230; Praises for December-January &nbsp; We are so thankful that our Winter- Spring speaking schedule is now almost completely booked.
