Parents and staff have been advised to take a different route to school.<\/p>\n<p>So RFIS Administrative Assistant, Mr. Norbert, contacted\u00a0leaders in the community<em>\u00a0<\/em>to discuss a solution.\u00a0 Someone in the area donated a tree which was cut by chainsaw into lumber, as all lumber here is cut.\u00a0 So sorry we don&#8217;t have a picture of that process.\u00a0 Ron took a picture\u00a0on his phone, but we don&#8217;t have a cord to transfer it to the computer.\u00a0 I tried to take a picture of the picture, but it turned out looking like a Bigfoot sighting in the forest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1147\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1147\" style=\"width: 403px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1147\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards1.jpg 403w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards1-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 403px) 100vw, 403px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1147\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charles, Aoudou, and Engelbert helped plane and move the lumber<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ron and the guys went out to the forest with a truck\u00a0to bring the cut lumber to RFIS for planing.\u00a0 At about 200 pounds a piece, the boards are tough to move around.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1148\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1148\" style=\"width: 403px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards-21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1148\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards-21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards-21.jpg 403w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2012\/02\/2012-02-Odza-boards-21-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 403px) 100vw, 403px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1148\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boards laid out at RFIS as they will be on the repaired bridge<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Then they laid the boards out at school the way they will be on the bridge.\u00a0 Ron has done a lot of research to figure out a repair that will make a durable bridge to serve heavy trucks, cars and motorcycles.\u00a0 These boards are 3 times as wide as the boards of the original bridge, so they should do well.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned for updates as the bridge is built &#8211; hopefully next week.\u00a0 The road will have to be closed for a couple days.\u00a0 We hope this will not only be a functional bridge, but that it will build relational bridges with the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/ziegelbaur?moderation_action=report_form&object_type=post&object_id=1141&width=250&height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Building bridges is a theme we&#8217;ve often heard in relation to missions, mnistry and cross cultural relationships.\u00a0 Developping relationships is a way of building bridges of understanding so that people of different cultures may more readily accept the gospel message.\u00a0 And sometimes building relationships means building actual bridges, which is right up Ron&#8217;s alley.
