Apply to the Youth Theological Initiative Summer Academy, July 5-26, 2014<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Youth Theological Initiative (YTI) is a summer residential program in Atlanta, Georgia. \u00a0We gather forty rising high school juniors and seniors from around the world to Emory University for a three-week experience in Christian theological education. Our goal is to cultivate public theologians for the church and world. \u00a0At the YTI Summer Academy, participants engage in:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Asking tough theological questions in a supportive community.<\/p>\n

Exploring quality theological literature, including classics of the Christian faith tradition, the Bible, and other resources.<\/p>\n

Learning how to analyze, and address global issues from Christian theological perspectives.<\/p>\n

Joining with adult participants in shaping and being accountable to a residential covenant community.<\/p>\n

Experiencing a variety of ways to worship together as an ecumenical group, including worship with local Christian congregations and other religious communities.<\/p>\n

Working in the Atlanta community with local\u00a0organizations\u00a0seeking to build peace and justice.<\/div>\n

We seek theologically curious youth from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, denominational and religious backgrounds. We welcome youth who have not been formed by specific faith traditions. \u00a0The application requirements include several short essays, two recommendations and a\u00a0high school transcript. \u00a0Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis as long as spots are available. \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
