About

SEMINARY WITHOUT WALLS
The title "Seminary without walls" comes from civil rights giant, Dr. C.T. Vivien. In the sixties he developed recorded tapes (remember them?) to bring bible,  pastoral theology and practical ministry classes to African American  ministers who could not afford theological training. Don Davenport of the Covenant’s Department of Church Growth and Evangelism still has his “Seminary Without walls” set!

I love the name. In an angle different than Dr. Vivien, my hope is that this blog can post ideas, discussions, resources, poetry, in interaction with the seminary community. It can be done without visiting the school, being in the classroom, calling on a phone or sending snail mail.

Welcome to a time of seminary without walls!
