more pictures of the Mount of Olives and of Jerusalem, as they relate to what happened on Palm Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Readings for Monday of Holy Week:<\/strong><span><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><strong>Matthew 21:18-22:46, Mark 11:12-19, Luke 20:1-47, John 12:20-36<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-1.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[983]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-987\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This is the view from the top of the Mount of Olives, looking west to Jerusalem.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The old city wall you see is not from the time of Jesus, but dates from 1538 and was built by Suleiman the Magnificent.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The building with the gold dome is the famous \u201cDome of the Rock\u201d mosque, built on the site of the previous Jewish temples.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The closed up gate in the wall (on the right edge of the photo) is the Golden Gate, the one through which Jesus is said to have entered on Palm Sunday.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-2.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[983]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-988\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dominus Flevit, the \u201cChurch Of the Tear,\u201d is half way down the steep western slope of the Mount of Olives.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>It is a reminder that Jesus wept over Jerusalem as he was approaching the city on Palm Sunday (Luke 19:41-44).<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This beautiful little chapel was completed in 1955.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>It has incredible acoustics, and is a joy to sing in!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-3.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[983]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-989\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">View of Jerusalem from Dominus Flevit, the Church Of the Tear.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Looking out across the Holy City from here and seeing sights so similar to what Jesus himself saw as he rode down the Mount of Olives, Scripture comes alive in a fresh, physical, tangible way.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This is a quiet, beautiful place to meditate and reflect on the deep meaning of the events of Holy Week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-4.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[983]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-990\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-4-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" &#8220;The cross of Christ is the focus for faith.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-51.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[983]\"><img for Today: \u00a0<\/strong>Lord Jesus, you went to the temple on Monday to teach and pray, but found God\u2019s house in disarray.\u00a0 As you cleansed the temple in Jerusalem long ago, cleanse us today, for we ourselves are God\u2019s temple too.\u00a0 Overturn the things in our lives that we have allowed to clutter and displace our relationship with you.\u00a0 Thank you for what you will
