I’ve heard these reasons for\u00a0not\u00a0singing traditional advent music:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The songs are depressing<\/li>\n
  2. Most people don’t know they are seasonal, and would not make that connection in worship<\/li>\n
  3. The songs are unfamiliar<\/li>\n
  4. The Christmas songs are so good, it’s a shame to only sing them once<\/li>\n
  5. We already know the end of the story, so it’s no fun to sing about the stuff that’s already happened<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
