spaces.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The structures marking the various Christian sites are beautiful, awe-inspiring spaces.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>As you observe these photos of the churches that have been built over the locations of Jesus\u2019 passion and death, think of all the people who have visited these places over the centuries and expressed, in very diverse ways, their devotion to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Readings for Wednesday of Holy Week:<\/strong><span><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><strong>Matthew 25:1-26:16, Mark <\/span>The church is built over the rock where Jesus supposedly prayed.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The olive grove is to the left of the church.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p Peter In Gallicantu, built over the site of Caiaphas\u2019 house.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>You can see two of the mosaics that decorate the church\u2019s exterior.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Peter denied Jesus three times in the courtyard of Caiaphas\u2019 house, before the cock crowed.<\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a Holy Sepulcher Church, built over the most ancient and likely sites of Golgotha and the Tomb.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This side of the church was built by the Crusaders sometime before 1180.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The right doorway was blocked after 1187 as part of Muslim control of the site after the Crusaders were defeated.<\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-92.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[1032]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium class=\"MsoNormal\">The Rotunda dome inside the Holy Sepulcher Church, newly built in 1997 and decorated with a 12-pointed star whose rays symbolize the outreach of the 12 apostles.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Beneath this dome is the Tomb of Christ.<\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/40\/2009\/03\/jerusalem-101.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[1032]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1044\"
