Our sincere thanks to ALL<\/strong> our Ministry Partners for your patience with our long break from blogging. We know that many of you have watched and enjoyed the “Tales from Africa”<\/strong>. \u00a0Thank you for your interest and encouraging responses to those short video stories.<\/p>\n

SO WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For those who may not receive our Smith SAGA updates by e-mail, here is a very quick summary of the past 18 months:<\/p>\n

Mid-July 2014<\/strong> \u00a0Return to the U.S. for Home Assignment. \u00a0 Helen began the Spiritual Direction Course at NPTS<\/p>\n

August-early December ’14<\/strong> \u00a0Sharing about Congo with Church Partners<\/p>\n

Dec. 3, 2014<\/strong> \u00a0Total Right Knee Replacement for Tim<\/p>\n

Late January<\/strong> \u00a0Beginning of yearlong “Sabbatical of Healing” \u00a0 (working on healthier interaction in marriage and ministry through counseling)<\/p>\n

Feb. – May ’15<\/strong> \u00a0Breast Cancer Challenge for Helen<\/p>\n

June – Oct. ’15<\/strong> \u00a0Hand Surgery and Therapy for Helen<\/p>\n

Dec. 9, 2015<\/strong> \u00a0Total Left Knee Replacement for Tim<\/p>\n

Jan. 21, 2016<\/strong>\u00a0 We received the ‘Green Light’<\/span><\/strong> to Return to Congo!<\/p>\n

SO WHAT’S UP NEXT?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

LOTS!<\/strong> \u00a0Final clearance from our doctors, getting our shots updated, acquiring visas & a yearly supply of meds, shopping & packing for Africa, packing down what we won’t need, maybe sneaking in a quick visit to a few more churches?…..<\/p>\n

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS FOR US FOR PEACE AS WE TRUST GOD TO PROVIDE FOR ALL OUR NEEDS.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now that we’re ‘back in the game’ and back on\u00a0the blog our hope is to be better in touch with you. \u00a0We’re VERY excited about all God’s been doing thru’ the ministry started last term at Zulu Camp & Discipleship Center. \u00a0More on that in our next post at this site. \u00a0For now we close with 3 things: \u00a0our family photo from Christmas 2015, grateful \u2665’s<\/span>\u00a0for God’s healing work in our lives, and much love to all of you who read and pray.<\/p>\n
