{"id":845,"date":"2019-03-20T11:45:51","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T16:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/?p=845"},"modified":"2019-03-20T11:45:51","modified_gmt":"2019-03-20T16:45:51","slug":"heart-of-the-pacto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/2019\/03\/20\/heart-of-the-pacto\/","title":{"rendered":"Heart of the Pacto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We finished the first round yesterday \u2013 five regional conference visited and all of the pastoral leadership participated in a representative act of committing themselves to be alert to softening their hearts to hear the Lord God speaking. They also committed themselves to watching out for and being alert to the \u201cCondition of their Lives, The State of their Hearts\u201d\u2014serving each other as Spiritual Mentors who encourage and exhort each other to \u201cnot let their hearts be hardened so they don\u2019t hear the Lord God\u2019s voice. Each person was given the opportunity to take a piece of clay and work it with their hands, as the potter does in Jeremiah 18. At the end of their working the clay, they shared the figure that they had designed and the meaning that it had for them. With the more than 50 different pieces of clay that were designed and then stuck onto the \u201cHeart of the Pacto\u201d, very few figures were repeated. We had hearts, rings, cups, plates, crosses, leaves, eagles, Andean condors, butterflies, formless clay waiting to be re-formed, doves, diamonds, watchtowers, etc.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-847\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0346-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0346-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0346-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-848\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0321-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0321-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0321-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/sander\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2019\/03\/IMG_0321-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>Along the way in these first encounters with each group of sisters and brothers, we gathered with many who have been on this journey with us for more than 12 years \u2013 some started with Gary back in 1993! We also were able to meet with the pastoral leadership in the city of Pasto for the first time (previously we had been together outside of the city.) We now get ready for the second round (which started today) and we look forward to how the Lord God will be leading all of us look out for one another and to look out for those who we want to include in this mentoring experience\u2014especially the youth in the churches and ministries who are looking for ways to be equipped and trained as the current and future leadership.
