and &#8220;Hello December!&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>And we&#8217;re back from Thanksgiving!<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>Even though Thanksgiving and I have our differences<\/strong>, I do love the fact that it brings family and friends together, and for that reason, I do celebrate and give thanks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>This year was the first year that I wasn&#8217;t able to be with my family<\/strong> during Thanksgiving and so it was really special for me to be able to come together with our missionary family here in Ecuador.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/11\/24116403_10155744236116287_477318154_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-854 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/11\/24116403_10155744236116287_477318154_o-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>I loved the traditional food we had<\/strong>, the fact that everybody brought something and participated in some way, and that we all went around the table and shared what we were thankful for.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>But what truly made it feel more like &#8220;home&#8221;<\/strong> was the little things, like laughing while doing the dishes, hearing the cracking and popping of a fire in the fireplace, sneaking bits of food here and there as we prepared the meal, the coolness of a rainy Quito day, and the sweet friendship and camaraderie we share.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/11\/24116441_10155744236096287_248749932_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large &#8220;after-dinner-before-dessert-hike-around-the-circle&#8221;, we did do a hike the day after thanksgiving and listened to Christmas music all day. *happy heart* It truly was a lovely \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Minnesota Visits<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>This past week we also had our first guests from Minnesota<\/strong> and our home church in Minnesota, the Millers! It was so fun to spend a few days with them as well as hear home church news and happenings in Minnesota. It was so lovely to be able to show them our lovely country we call home! Thanks Millers for the love, encouragement, and visit!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/12\/24281784_10155756938536287_468491463_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-872\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/12\/24281784_10155756938536287_468491463_o-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/12\/24281784_10155756938536287_468491463_o-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/12\/24281784_10155756938536287_468491463_o-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/12\/24281784_10155756938536287_468491463_o.jpg 852w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Welcome December!<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>And with that, we closed off our November<\/strong> and said hello to the much anticipated month of the lovely December, which will be filled with but not limited to: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">Christmas decorating and music<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">christmas cookie bakes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">much candle lighting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">cozy fires in the fireplace<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">Christmas services and celebrations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">Christmas movie nights<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">rest, and rest<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">Richard&#8217;s whole family coming to spend Christmas with us in Ibarra. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\">I am so excited that I could pop!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>The Christmas season is definitely my favorite:\u00a0<\/strong>all the excitement, decorations, togetherness, and what it means for us as a people of faith in Christ. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>That is why I absolutely love and participate in Advent<\/strong>, as it prepares us and gently leads us into reflection and preparation for Emmanuel, the celebration of God with us. God with us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\">God, with us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\">Hallelujah and Amen!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\">Bring it on, December!
