{"id":590,"date":"2017-04-28T18:12:49","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T23:12:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/?p=590"},"modified":"2017-04-28T18:17:10","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T23:17:10","slug":"one-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/2017\/04\/28\/one-month\/","title":{"rendered":"one month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>one month.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\">We&#8217;ve been here for almost one month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>And we&#8217;ve been running since we&#8217;ve hit the ground<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\">Since we&#8217;ve arrived we&#8217;ve been full on with activities and Merge partnership teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>We&#8217;ve hosted two teams this April<\/strong>, a multi-generational group\u00a0from Berlin, CT and a group of pastors\u00a0from the Covenant Church of Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>Both groups were able to partner in different ways.<\/strong> With the Berlin, CT group we were able to partner with a Covenant church in Sangolqui as well as in Quevedo. Actually, one of our dreams and goals as trip facilitators here in Ecuador is to\u00a0connect a partnership team coming from North America to another team\/church from Ecuador that is already visiting or supporting another church in Ecuador, in that way, both groups can go together to support and connect in an already established and healthy way. And that way, when the team from North America leaves, the other team will still be visiting the church\/ministry and supporting them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>And that is exactly what happened<\/strong> with the group from Berlin, CT. We were able to come alongside the church in Sangolqui and join them on their weekly trip to Quevedo where they are planting another church.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file6-2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-592\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file6-2-1024x596.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"596\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file6-2-1024x596.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file6-2-300x174.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file6-2-768x447.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>It was so beautiful to see not only the two teams partnering together<\/strong> with the church in Quevedo, but also to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.santiagopartnership.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Delps<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.annaleaswanderings.wordpress.com\">Annalea<\/a>, and Meghan (our fellow\u00a0missionaries here in Ecuador) come along to lead a medical caravan. It was a beautiful week of supporting, encouraging, and learning from one another and bringing His kingdom\u00a0here on earth. We were also super grateful for our awesome team of interpreters (and dear friends) who were also able to partner with us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file2-4.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-593\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file2-4-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file2-4-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file2-4-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file2-4-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>The other group that came in April was another step towards some dreams we have<\/strong>. The group from Canada consisted of four pastors who represented part of the Covenant church in Canada and who are, as a conference, committed to the Kichwa district here in Ecuador. Because of that, we were able to visit almost all the Covenant churches here in the Kichwa district which was a HUGE encouragement to the pastors and a learning experience for both. The pastors also participated in a church planting and church revitalization workshop. It was so great to see the dialogue happening and questions being asked and brought up and the listening and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file4-3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-594\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file4-3-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file4-3-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file4-3-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/resantana\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2017\/04\/file4-3-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>Other than preparing and hosting partnership teams<\/strong>, we&#8217;ve been connecting and reconnecting with other pastors and leaders here in Ecuador as well as planning for other Merge trips coming up this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>We&#8217;ve also been doing all the other &#8220;fun&#8221; stuff<\/strong> that comes with moving to a new country: registering our information in government systems, applying for visas (Elizabeth), fixing mission cars, house hunting, being stuck in the middle of a strike, and setting up accounts and keeping track of our budget, etc., etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>Although it has been busy and go, go, go<\/strong> since we&#8217;ve got here, we have been really careful about prioritizing and making time to be\u00a0with family and our friends here. And we&#8217;ve been running since we&#8217;ve hit the ground.\u00a0Since we&#8217;ve arrived we&#8217;ve been full on with activities and Merge partnership teams. We&#8217;ve hosted two teams this April, a multi-generational group\u00a0from Berlin, CT and a group of pastors\u00a0from the Covenant Church of Canada. Both groups were able to partner in different ways. With the Berlin, CT group we were able to partner with a Covenant church in Sangolqui as well as in Quevedo. Actually, one of our dreams and goals as trip facilitators here in Ecuador is to\u00a0connect a partnership team coming from North America to another team\/church from Ecuador that is already visiting or supporting another church in Ecuador, in that way, both groups can go together to support and connect in an already established and healthy way. And that way, when the team from North America leaves, the other team will still be visiting the church\/ministry and supporting them. And that is exactly what happened with the group from Berlin, CT.
