A Christmas banquet was held later that evening for approximately 80 people. <!--more--><\/p>\n<div><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/07\/0370.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[9491]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9492\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/07\/0370.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"258\" \/><\/a>The church will begin weekly worship activities January 13 with a grand opening event.<\/p>\n<div>Great Exchange Covenant held its first preview service October 14, with a second held November 4. The congregation meets in the Marriott Hotel in Santa Clara.<\/p>\n<div>David Chae (accompanying photo), who previously served as associate pastor at Newsong Community Church in southern California, is the pastor of the church plant.<\/p>\n<div>Newsong Community has been sending a worship team to lead the preview services, driving more than 300 miles each way.<\/p>\n<div>Chae began laying the groundwork for a new church start this summer with barbecues and other events.
