CHICAGO, IL (January 22, 2009) \u2013 The new home care service offered by Covenant Retirement Communities<\/a> (CRC) will offer senior adults and their families more opportunities to remain independent in their own residences, says Bonnie Hollenbeck, national director of operations for CovenantCare at Home.

\nCovenantCare at Home was known as Carlton Home Healthcare before its recent acquisition by CRC.<\/p>\n

CRC was able to start providing home care services to seniors in 2006, when it acquired 50 percent of United Methodist Homes and Services. Those services focused primarily on skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.<\/p>\n

CovenantCare at Home greatly expands what CRC can offer. Services include medical reminders, 24-hour personal care, care management, transportation, comprehensive therapies, laundry and cleaning, says Hollenbeck.<\/p>\n

Services are covered under Medicare as well as other private pay and insurance plans. CovenantCare at Home works with Medicare on covered services so that \u201cpeople don\u2019t have to spend their pocket dollars,\u201d says Hollenbeck.<\/p>\n

CovenantCare at Home\u2019s patients primarily are senior adults, but they also offer services to high-risk children in Illinois.<\/p>\n

CRC operates 14 retirement communities in eight states. CovenantCare at Home is active in three of them – Illinois, California and Colorado. CRC plans to start home care services in the other states as well.<\/p>\n

CRC administers its communities on behalf of the Board of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church.<\/p>\n
