SEWARD, AK (August 4, 2009) \u2013 Two memorial services are planned for Annette (Smith) Knofel, 59, wife of Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Bruce Knofel, who was killed July 26 in a traffic accident near Anchorage.

\nThe first service will be conducted at 4 p.m. August 10 at Resurrection Lutheran Church<\/a>, 400 Third Avenue, in Seward. Another memorial service will be held later in the month in Seattle.<\/p>\n

Bruce Knofel suffered multiple injuries in the accident, which occurred when the driver of a pickup truck swerved into oncoming traffic and struck couple\u2019s vehicle. The date for the memorial service in Seattle will be set when he is able to travel.<\/p>\n

Annette Knofel was born November 1, 1949. The couple married June 10, 1972.<\/p>\n

The Knofels ministered at Covenant Congregational Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Community Covenant Church in Redmond, Washington; and Newport Covenant Church in Bellevue, Washington.<\/p>\n

In addition to her husband, Knofel is survived by two children, Sarah Mangum of Woodland, California, and Daniel Knofel of Glen Allen, Virginia.<\/p>\n
