He earned his undergraduate\u00a0 degree at USC. His newly composed work was featured during a recent\u00a0 World Premier concert at Carnegie Hall.<\/p>\n<div>According to his father, Jeff, an associate pastor at Modesto Covenant\u00a0 Church in Modesto, California, Andrew has been composing orchestral work\u00a0 since the ninth grade. He grew up at First Covenant Church in Grand\u00a0 Rapids, Michigan, and First Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois.<\/p>\n<div>The New York Symphony has been performing at Carnegie Hall for 41 years.\u00a0 Founded in 1963, it is the current holder of the Leonard Bernstein Award\u00a0 for Educational Programming.<\/p>\n<div>Norman is one of numerous Covenanters making their marks throughout\u00a0 North America. The following listing of some of these accomplishments,\u00a0 gleaned from church newsletters received by the Department of\u00a0 Communication, is grouped by conference and region.<\/p>\n<div><strong>CENTRAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oak Lawn, Illinois: Trinity Covenant Church&#8217;s Becky Moran is on the\u00a0 roster of the University of Illinois-Chicago softball team as a utility\u00a0 player after a strong high school career at Chicago&#8217;s Mother McAuley\u00a0 High School. A three-year letter winner and a two-time All-Conference\u00a0 outfielder, she led the Mighty Macs to 57 wins in her last two seasons,\u00a0 including the program&#8217;s first sectional and regional titles in school\u00a0 history. Moran batted .313 with 21 runs batted in and was 10 for 10\u00a0 stolen bases in 2003.<\/li>\n<li>Naperville, Illinois: Erika Nyberg of Naperville Evangelical\u00a0 Covenant Church participated in the Illinois State Tennis Championships\u00a0 for Naperville North High School. Meanwhile, two other high school\u00a0 students, Adriana Herrera of Waubonsie Valley High and Eleanor Good,\u00a0 were selected to be part of the Illinois Music Educators Association\u00a0 District festival. Adriana played violin in the orchestra while Eleanor\u00a0 played oboe in the concert band.<\/li>\n<li>Iron River, Michigan: Grace Covenant Church teens Ryan Shamion,\u00a0 Anders Lindwall, Jessica Aho, Katie Pratt, Linzi Saigh, Karla Van Wagner\u00a0 and Joel Frasier were named to National Honor Society at their high\u00a0 schools. Frasier was also named to the All-Conference first team in\u00a0 football as a kicker.<\/li>\n<li>Iron Mountain, Michigan: Krysta Erickson was chosen to be &#8220;Lucia&#8221; at\u00a0 North Park University&#8217;s annual Santa Lucia Festival on December 6.\u00a0 Krysta is a senior at North Park with a double major in Scandinavian\u00a0 Studies and Business.\u00a0 Sister Joanna, a freshman at the school, sang in\u00a0 the chorus for the festival. Their father Peter is the new pastor at\u00a0 First Covenant Church.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>EAST COAST<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Waltham, Massachusetts: Covenant Congregational Church&#8217;s Tim LeBlanc\u00a0 recently finished eighth in the New England Regional Figure Skating\u00a0 Championships in Boxborough, Massachusetts. LeBlanc, who skates for the\u00a0 Skating Club of Boston, competed in the Novice Men&#8217;s division.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>GREAT LAKES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jamestown, New York: Kaitlyn Illingworth of First Covenant Church\u00a0 recently was inducted into the National Honor Society for her academic\u00a0 and leadership efforts at Southwestern High School. Another teen at the\u00a0 church, Natalie Johnson, competed at the New York Public High School\u00a0 Athletic Association Swimming Championships for the second consecutive\u00a0 year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>ECCAK<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eagle River, Alaska: Eddie Jackson, who attends Community Covenant\u00a0 Church, recently was named to the National Honor Society for his high\u00a0 school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>MIDWEST<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topeka, Kansas: Brookwood Covenant Church&#8217;s Abbey Martin finished her volleyball season at Rugters University in New Jersey, leading her team\u00a0 in assists with 1,154 for the 11-17 Scarlet Knights. Martin, a setter,\u00a0 started 26 matches (104 games in all) and averaged 11 assists per game.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>NORTHWEST<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Richfield, Minnesota: Thirteen-year-old Kristi Holmberg teamed up\u00a0 with her grandmother, Virginia Vining of Bethany Covenant Church, to win\u00a0 a school-sponsored doubles tennis tournament this fall.<\/li>\n<li>Rochester, Minnesota: Rochester Covenant Church&#8217;s youth choir was\u00a0 part of a Discovery Health Channel series segment on the world renowned\u00a0 Mayo Clinic.
