(December 18, 2003)\u00a0 &#8211; The North Park University (NPU) women&#8217;s\u00a0 basketball team split games with a pair of Washington, D.C. schools,\u00a0 beating Trinity College 67-57 Monday night after losing 61-35 to\u00a0 Catholic University on Sunday afternoon.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div>By virtue of Monday&#8217;s victory, coach Jack Surridge&#8217;s team moved to 7-3\u00a0 overall heading into Christmas break. The Vikings won&#8217;t play again until\u00a0 January 3 &#8211; a 2 p.m. non-league home game against Rockford College.\u00a0 Megan Slattery was the scoring star against Trinity, scoring 20 points\u00a0 while pulling down 11 rebounds. Laura Mount added 10 points and Tiffany\u00a0 Campbell had nine points as the Vikings took an early 11-3 lead and\u00a0 never trailed thereafter.<\/p>\n<div>On Sunday, the Vikings couldn&#8217;t overcome a 25-11 deficit at the half\u00a0 against Catholic University despite game high totals of 19 points and 12\u00a0 rebounds by Slattery.<\/p>\n<div>For the season, Slattery leads the team in scoring (12.9 points per\u00a0 game) and rebounding (9.1). Campbell is averaging 11 points per game and\u00a0 shooting 81 percent from the foul line (21 for 26).
