The position will be available in\u00a0 mid-January.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div>This full-time position is responsible for taking and transcribing notes\u00a0 on a computer, supporting the work of the Stewardship Commission,\u00a0 composing and typing routine correspondence, managing the day-to-day\u00a0 operations of the department, supporting the work of the President&#8217;s\u00a0 Circle including mailings and receipting and acknowledging gifts,\u00a0 answering the telephone and arranging conference calls. The position\u00a0 also is responsible for coordinating the executive vice president&#8217;s\u00a0 schedule and numerous other office-related duties. A complete job\u00a0 description is available upon request.<\/p>\n<div>The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal,\u00a0 organizational, and communication skills as well as the ability to\u00a0 handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional and\u00a0 prompt manner. The position demands accuracy, the ability to show\u00a0 respect and sensitivity for cultural differences and the ability to\u00a0 maintain strict confidentiality. The individual must have the ability to\u00a0 work with limited direction, take initiative and have the ability to\u00a0 plan and carry out responsibilities with limited supervision. Good\u00a0 judgment is necessary. The individual must be courteous and relate well\u00a0 to internal and external constituencies. The person must be tactful,\u00a0 possess highly developed communication skills in English (written and\u00a0 verbal), and be able to communicate effectively with staff and others\u00a0 with whom this position has contact.<\/p>\n<div>The successful candidate also will have a bachelor&#8217;s degree from a\u00a0 four-year college or university, two to three years of related\u00a0 experience and\/or training or an equivalent combination of education and\u00a0 experience, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access\u00a0 and familiarity with the Internet and e-mail systems.<\/p>\n<div>Qualified candidates should submit a letter and resume no later than\u00a0 Friday, January 7, to Donn Engebretson, executive vice president, the\u00a0 Evangelical Covenant Church, 5101 N.
