Johnson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PLANTATION, FL (July 22, 2009) \u2013 A memorial service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Edward G. Johnson, 86, will be conducted at Covenant Village of Florida at 11 a.m. Saturday. He died Monday.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nJohnson was born May 31, 1923, in Denver, Colorado. He married Irene Johnson in 1947.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson earned associates degrees at North Park and Bethany colleges. He graduated North Park Theological Seminary in 1948 and was ordained in 1950.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson served Covenant churches across the country: Mission Covenant Church in Lily Lake, Illinois; Marquette Covenant Church in Marquette, Kansas; Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora, Nebraska; Mission Covenant Church in Galesburg, Illinois; First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain, Michigan; Eagle Rock Covenant Church in Los Angeles, California; First Covenant Church in Fresno, California; Kirkland Covenant Church in Kirkland, Washington, and Beverly Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois.
