CHICAGO, IL (January 12, 2006) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.<\/p>\n

We will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the “comments” link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.<\/p>\n

Marilyn E. Moore of Somerville, MA, writes: I grew up on the inner side of the Maine\/New Hampshire border. Everyone helped each other. Would that we in the cities even knew most of our neighbors. The last time I knew the names for six houses on either side of my house and across the street was when we were clearing the street during the blizzard of 1978. Governor Dukakis had to close the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts to get neighbors to help neighbors. It was a great feeling.<\/p>\n

The ministry of the Lord, which I am involved in, deals with sexual brokenness. The similarities of grief and hopelessness that come from either catastrophic natural events or the drawn out destruction of the spirit and will through abuse and loneliness are amazingly the same. Although each event is different in its duration of impact, the results are the same. My prayer is that RCC leadership will continue to focus on reaching out to the broken abroad as well as at home.
