{"id":6976,"date":"2006-10-17T12:57:04","date_gmt":"2006-10-17T17:57:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/newswire\/?p=6976"},"modified":"2011-07-06T08:35:13","modified_gmt":"2011-07-06T13:35:13","slug":"5200","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/newswire\/2006\/10\/17\/5200\/","title":{"rendered":"Services Partially Restored in Water-Damaged Offices"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>CHICAGO, IL (October 17, 2006) \u2013 Partial telephone and Internet service was restored this afternoon at the shared offices of Christian Formation, Covenant Resource Center, and Ordered Ministry after a boiler burst during the early morning hours, disrupting telephone service and Internet access.<!--more--><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/06\/CF-T.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[6976]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6978\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/06\/CF-T.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a>\u201cThe place is a mess with considerable water damage,\u201d says Nancy Fisher, administrative assistant in the offices of the Department of the Ordered Ministry. Crews from North Park University, which owns the building at 3311 West Foster Avenue, worked this morning to remove as much water as possible that flowed down from the third floor, where the boiler is located.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe area housing Covenant Resource Center was the hardest hit and suffered the most damage,\u201d Fisher reports. The Christian Formation areas had files and anything else exposed on desktops or on the floor damaged as well. Ordered Ministry areas were coping mostly with water on the floors that seeped from adjacent areas.<\/p>\n<p>The 800 number is again working for Covenant Resource Center, as is the regular office number for Christian Formation. Internet access has been restored for all offices, including email. Telephone service to the Department of the Ordered Ministry remained unavailable as of late this afternoon, Covenant News Service was advised. Electrical power was never interrupted.<\/p><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/06\/CF-BL.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[6976]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6977\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/06\/CF-BL-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/newswire\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/06\/CF-BL-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/newswire\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2011\/06\/CF-BL.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>As a temporary measure \u2013 until telephone service to Ordered Ministry is restored \u2013 necessary phone calls may be directed to the main Evangelical Covenant Church switchboard at 773-784-3000. Urgent messages will be directed to appropriate Ordered Ministry staff at other off-premise telephone numbers. Most staff worked from their homes until the building is cleaned and full communications capability is restored.
