SANTA BARBARA, CA (April 23, 2007) \u2013 The Samarkand retirement community will host its fifth annual art show May 10-13. The show will feature the work of residents and staff created over the past two years.

\nShow organizer and Samarkand activity director Frances Goodwin said the artists range from seasoned professionals to novice creators. A licensed art therapist, Goodwin teaches watercolor and several other techniques to residents of the retirement community.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone has an artist in them, waiting to come out,\u201d she says. \u201cThe residents and staff have created beautiful, unique pieces of art, proving you\u2019re never too old to learn something new.\u201d<\/p>\n
A rich variety of media will be represented, including watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels, photography, charcoal, pen and ink, and sculpture.<\/p>\n
