NEW BRIGHTON, MN (April 5, 2007) \u2013 A new PBS series featuring Covenanter and family life expert Donna Erickson will launch around the country this weekend.

\nDonna\u2019s Day<\/em> Starring Donna Erickson is designed to help parents and children \u201crediscover the simple joys of spending time together.\u201d Erickson attends Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton, Minnesota, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of North Park University. She and her husband, Dean, graduated from the school in 1971.<\/p>\n

\"DonnaDonna’s Day<\/em> launches in the Twin Cities at different times on several channels beginning at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Check the Donna\u2019s Day website<\/a> and click on the red \u201cContact your PBS station\u201d box for local listings. Covenant Retirement Communities is one of the show\u2019s sponsors.<\/p>\n

The Associated Press<\/em> designated the program as one of the “Top Ten Television Shows” in the United States when it first aired in the late 1990s. It is now returning with new episodes, each offering a theme designed to help adults feel more caring, confident, and creative when connecting with children. In addition, four seasonal specials will highlight practical suggestions for celebrating holidays together \u2013 Halloween, Christmas\/Chanukah\/Kwanzaa, Valentine’s Day, and Easter.<\/p>\n

Erickson is an educator with a Master’s Degree in Second Languages and Cultures Education. She speaks several languages and has lived and traveled in more than 40 countries.
